Cinema, one of the oldest forms of entertainment has received immense popularity with time. In the initial stages, only men used to act in the cinemas as the entry of women were restricted. They used to enact the scenes of the women too. With time, the concept changed and women gradually started entering the world of cinemas. Nowadays, there is a lot of light, sound, makeup, glitz and glamour in the world of cinemas. However, there was a time, when cinemas were devoid of any sound. It was only a mimic act. Then came sound and with time movies evolved to some great extent and came to the position where it is today.

The word holiday is very enjoyable to our ears. We are very pleased when we got holidays. Long holiday’s like summer vacations, Puja vacations and the winter vacations give us time to unwind.We labor hard during operational days of the schools and colleges. Our brain is taxed. It requires some rests after powerful schoolwork. Hence we greet long holidays for rest. But after some period of time these long holidays turn out to be tedious. We start missing our friends, college, studies, etc. We spend such long vacations for tours and travels.The best way to pass these holidays is by visiting places with our dear friend. When I am on 11th standard, during the Puja vacation I am discussing with my classmates how we could spend the holidays. Sreya, one of our classmates, suggested having a picnic in their country house at Puri on the banks of Bay of Bengal.The suggestion found ready receipt. It is decided that next morning we should all meet at Howrah station and catch the 6:30 train at dawn.The next morning we reached the station at the appointed time. It was a great journey of 12 hours. After reaching Puri station we went to the countryside house hiring several auto rickshaws. The interior decoration of the countryside house was beautiful. A pleasant flowery smell which was coming in our room by the pleasant breeze from the window. This flowery smells coming due to the flower plot situated within the campus of the countryside house. After taking a little rest we had our breakfast there.The residence stood just on the Bay of Bengal. A landing stage led to the water of the sea. We all knew how to go swimming. Next morning we all plunged into the sea for a bath. It was in the month of September, and so bath in the cool water of the sea was very invigorating. After our bath, we began preparing food. I know how to cook. So, I took the most important part in this. While the cooking going on, some of us began to engage in recreational music while others began to play cards.Most of the time we sat in the seashore to enjoy the beauty of the scene. The next day, we went to the Puri temple and worshipped the God and took the Prasad. In the afternoon we again went to the seashore. The setting sun was very beautiful. The scenic beauty of sunset at that place was awesome. An enjoyable wind blowing from the south. The sea flowing with a saccharine murmur note. Numerous fishing boats were sailing. We enjoyed the prospect very much and from then it became my favourite holiday spot.
